Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS)
Our American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) certification course provides comprehensive training to help you learn the skills to save brains. Our course is designed to provide caregivers with the tools necessary to recognize and manage the various stroke syndromes they may encounter. Our experienced instructors will provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to become a certified ASLS provider.

Comprehensive Training
Our advanced stroke life support training program is designed to provide comprehensive training in the skills needed to recognize and manage stroke syndromes. Our program covers the latest assessment tools and protocols for managing stroke emergencies, as well as providing hands-on practice in the use of screening tools and treatment guidelines. Initial and Renewal courses are available at our Redding, Chico, Medford, Woodland, and Eureka offices. Topics include: Prehospital and in-hospital screening tools, brain anatomy, stroke syndromes and their presentations, stroke management.

Course Options
Our Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) program has several course offerings.
- (Initial) Certification for In-Hospital Provider: If this is your first first time taking ASLS, or if your previous ASLS certification has expired, you will have to take this format.
- Students must complete Part I online and at home prior to the course. The course can be found HERE.
- After completion of the precourse work, students will attend our skills session.
- (Initial) Certification for Prehospital Provider: If this is your first first time taking ASLS, or if your previous ASLS certification has expired, you will have to take this format.
- Students must complete Part I online and at home prior to the course. The course can be found HERE.
- After completion of the precourse work, students will attend our skills session.
- Renewal Students: If you're renewing your ASLS, we offer a one-day update course that focuses on practicing your typical stroke screening tool, recognizing a stroke syndrome, and practicing several simulations.

Book Information
The ASLS Reference Guide is required for all students and must be present during the course. The Reference Guides can purchased as a an eBook from the AHA website HERE.

ASLS Certification Cards
Upon completion of our course, students will receive a provider card that is valid for a period of 2 years. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive an AHA Advanced Stroke Life Support provider card from the American Heart Association. If students lose their cards or need a replacement, they can go to: www.ecards.heart.org/student/myecards or give us a call.
